An
Attractive Range of LPCB Approved Detectors Featuring a Unique Remote
Laser Test Unit for Easy Testing and Commissioning |
![]() |
Our attractive range of conventional detectors are tested and approved to EN54 parts 5 and 7 by the Loss Prevention Certification Board. The photoelectric detector uses an enhanced chamber designed to be tolerant to long term build up of dust and other contaminants. Automatic drift compensation provides a high level of immunity to contamination and is combined with special signal processing, which factors tolerance to short lived transient currents. Both of these factors greatly reduce unwanted false alarms. The combination of smoke and heat detection in the combined optical smoke and heat detector, reduce unwanted false alarms further. |
The fixed temperature heat detector only outputs and alarm condition when the ambient temperature reaches a fixed threshold of 58°C or 78°C. The rate of rise heat detector will provide an alarm condition when there is either a rapid change of temperature over a given period of time, or when a fixed threshold of 58°C is reached. Our remote indicator is for local indication when a detector enters the alarm mode. It is commonly used when a detector is situated in areas such as a cupboard or ceiling void and the detector LED can not be seen. The square remote indicator is designed to fit into a standard 25mm pattress box and is fitted with a wide viewing angle light emitting diode. |

The Laser Test Facility Routine periodic testing, fault finding and testing during commissioning has traditionally involved physical access to installed detectors, which is often a time consuming procedure requiring step-ladders or access towers. Unique to the range of detectors is the remote laser test unit, which alleviates this arduous process. Here the service engineer simply has to direct the modulated laser beam at the detector LED, the detector will then respond and latch into alarm. The remote laser test unit is not suitable for first test commissioning as simulated smoke or heat must be used during this process. |
